Obituary of Donald R. Cieslak

Donald Cieslak 1951 – 2017 Donald Cieslak, 66, a lifelong area resident passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born in Utica on August 14, 1951, the son of Anthony and Margaret Dutelle Cieslak and received his education in local schools. Don proudly served his country with the US Navy receiving an honorable discharge. He was employed for many years at Holy Trinity Church and a lifelong parishioner. Don was also the current commander of the P.L.A.V Post. His survivors include his two sisters and a brother- in- law, Yvonne and her husband Henry Czarnocki and Jeanne Bassett of Utica. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Kathy Testa Kierzek and his brother -in- law, George Bassett. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Those that wish may call on Tuesday from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Ave., Utica. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
