Obituary of Martin J. Kolwaite

Martin J. Kolwaite 1943 – 2017 Marcy Martin J. Kolwaite, 74, a lifelong area resident of Marcy, passed away on December 31, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY. He was born in Utica on March 19, 1943 the son of Martin and Julianna Janicki Kolwaite and received education in the Whitesboro Central School District, graduating with the class of 1962. Martin was employed for many years with Marcy and Utica Psychiatric Centers until his retirement in 1991. He was an usher of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Holy Name Society at Holy Trinity, the GE Ski Club and the CNY Parkinson's Support Group His survivors include his brother, Lawrence Kolwaite and his wife, Janet of Oriskany, NY; his sister, Lorraine Kolwaite of Fort Myers, FL and her friend Derek Taylor of Ontario, Canada. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, Terri Northrup and her husband Kenneth, Lisa Kolwaite, Anett Marcarian, Paul Marcarian and his wife Kelly, Tricia Marcarian, Eric Marcarian and his wife Alicia; as well as several great nieces and nephews, Alexandra, Emma, Natalie and Joseph Northrup, and Luke and Nathan Marcarian. Relatives and friends will be invited to his Mass of Christian Burial which will celebrate at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, Utica. Martin's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to STEVEN HUMPHREY and LIDIA PUIG for several years of extraordinary care given to Marty prior to his admittance to the Presbyterian Home as well as the caregivers and healthcare staff of the Presbyterian Home especially acknowledging those who work on the Cedar Wing.
