Obituary of Stanley Koscinski

1921 – 2018 Utica Stanley E. Koscinski, 96, entered into the hands of the eternal Lord on January 17th, 2018. Born on October 11th, 1921 in Utica, New York, the son of Jan and Mary (Maciol) Koscinski, he was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Josephine. Known affectionally as "Scotty", Stan was a lifelong resident of Utica. He was a graduate of the Utica Free Academy where he studied carpentry. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Stan served the duration in an amphibious assault division participating in numerous major invasions of the African and Asia-Pacific theaters during WWII. Stan was a gifted craftsman and was a devoted employee of Kellogg Lumber and Wolak Inc. He was a member of PLAV Post #8 and Molsan-Jones VFW in New York Mills, NY. Stan was also a longtime member of Polish Community Club (Utica) and Greenfield Fish & Game Club (Trenton) and avidly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with family and friends. Stan was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church where he and his wife were wed on July 12th, 1952. Stan is survived by his loving wife, Mary, with whom he enjoyed a blessed union of 65 years, four sons, John (Stittville), Michael and his wife Ann (Ogdensburg), David (Utica), Stephen and companion Bernadette Scharbach (Utica) and one daughter, Suzanne and husband Richard Mlynarczyk (Marcy). Also, among his survivors are six grandchildren, Christa (Bryan) Lynch, Christopher Koscinski, David (Shannon) Koscinski, Judy (Anthony) Piccione, Michelle Koscinski and Ryan Reynolds, Amy (Kevin) Blatt,andhisfivegreat-grandchildren, Amelia Basit& Christina Lynch, DJ & Daniel Koscinski, and Mason Reynolds along withBernadette's three children and eight grandchildren. His funeral will commence on Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, Lincoln Avenue, Utica, NY at 10.00 a.m. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday (today) at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, Lincoln Ave. Utica from 2 – 5 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. The Koscinski family extends a special thank you to Katherine Luther Rehabilitation Unit, especially to Dee for her loving care and to Francesca and the rest of the OT/PT departments.
