Obituary of Violet Hapanowicz

Violet Hapanowicz 1923-2018 Utica Violet Hapanowicz, 94, a longtime Utica resident passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 after a brief illness at the St. Luke's Home. She was born in Utica on March 29, 1923 the daughter of Harold and Martha Wenzel Foucher and attended local schools. On June 25, 1945 she was married to Walter Hapanowicz in St. Patrick's Church, Utica; he died on October 15, 1984. Violet was employed with the Hapanowicz Bros. Meat Market for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Vi was an avid bowler throughout Central New York and participated in many tournaments throughout New York and the U.S. Her survivors include her three brothers-in-law Rev. Arthur Hapanowicz of New Hartford, Stanley Hapanowicz of New Hartford and Raymond Hapanowicz of FL and a sister-in-law Marion Malone of FL and several beloved nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her young child Walter III. The family of Violet would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the St. Luke's Home for the excellent care and kindness she received throughout her stay. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at Holy Trinity Church. There are no public calling hours. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Kowalczyk Funeral Home 1156 Lincoln Avenue, Utica.
