Obituary of James J. Pakla

SMSGT. JAMES J. PAKLA, USAF, RET. 1955 – 2018 Clarksville, WV James Pakla, age 62, passed away Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the VA Medical Facility in Clarksburg, WV. James was born on May 23, 1955, in Utica, NY, the youngest child of the late Stanley and Katherine Socha Pakla. He attended Holy Trinity Grammar School and was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Upon graduating from Utica Free Academy in 1973, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His 25 year military career took him around the world. He served his country honorably, retiring in 1998 from 12AF, ACC at Davis Monthan AFB Tucson, Arizona. Jim is survived by his children - daughter Anne Marie and her husband Michael Veltri (Sterling, VA) and son Andrew James (Ashburn, VA). Also, survived by siblings - Diane Czyz (Buffalo, NY), John Pakla and his wife Sherry (Santa Clarita, CA), Barbara Pakla(Durham, NC), Isabelle Pakla (Utica, NY) along with many loving nieces and nephews and their families. You're forever in our hearts. Rest in peace. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 14, 2018.
