Obituary of Lawrence J. Cahalan

Lawrence J. Cahalan 1957 – 2018 New Hartford Lawrence (Larry) Cahalan, 60, a lifelong area resident passed away on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester NY after a brief illness. He was born in Utica on November 30, 1957, the son of John and the late Elaine Murphy Cahalan.Larry was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended MVCC. Larry was employed with Verizon for over three decades and retired in 2017. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Larry's legacy leaves fond memories of strong family ties and friendships of love and laughter. His humble spirit will carry on in all who knew and loved him. His survivors include his loving wife Alison Ryan Cahalan, his beloved son Jacob Cahalan both of New Hartford and his father,John Cahalan of Utica. He also leaves three sisters and their spouses, Karen and Daniel Reilly of Albany, Catherine and Alfred Kupiec Jr. of New Hartford, Mary Lane of Stittville and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law James Lane. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Those who wish may call on Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 284 Main St., New York Mills. Burial services will be at the convenience of the family.
