Obituary of Mary J. Kaczor

Mary Kaczor 1924 – 2018 Mary J. Kaczor, 93, a longtime resident of Yorkville passed away on Friday July, 6, 2018. She was born in Utica on December 26, 1924 the daughter of Bartholomew and Magdalena Handzel Handzel and received her education in local schools. On May 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Matthew Kaczor in Holy Trinity Church, a blessed union until his passing on August 8, 1993. Mary was employed with General Electric then with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. as a supervisor for over twenty – years until her retirement. She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Utica where she was active in the making and selling of pierogi's, the West Side Senior Center, the Polonaise Seniors, the Jan Roback Post #8 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Walter Skiba Post Ladies Auxiliary. Her survivors include her brother and his wife, Joseph and Helen Handzel, of Utica. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews that she mothered. She leaves her many Bingo playing friends and the Holy Trinity Pierogi Makers. She was predeacesed by her brothers, Adam (Joan) Handzel, Walter (Jenny) Handzel, and Frank (Gladys) Handzel, Sr., sister –in- law, Helen (Doc) Chrabaszcz, and brother –in- law, Joseph (Genevieve) Kaczor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Those who wish may call at the Kowalczyk Funeral Home, 1156 Lincoln Ave. one hour prior to the Mass. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
