Obituary of Scott Owens

Scott Owens 1974-2017 Clinton NY A loving son, brother, and uncle passed away on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, at the age of 43. Scott W. Owens was born on April 9th, 1974. His parents, Robert and Arlene (Hoare) Owens, were blessed with a child that would shape their lives forever. Scott, being a member of the St. Mary's Parish, attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Clinton High School. After high school, Scott attended MVCC and SUNY. "Scotty," as he was named by so many, could easily capture your attention with his infectious smile, good-natured personality, and carefree lifestyle. In his early years, Scott developed a strong passion for golfing. It wasn't uncommon to see him walking around, inside and outside the house, with his golf clubs. On more than one occasion, a neighbor would return a golf ball that broke their window. It didn't take long before Scott mastered his golf game, playing and working at the Skenandoa Golf Course. Scotty loved to spend his time and share his talents golfing with his nephews, Dan and Tim, which quickly created a lifetime bond of memories and commitments. Over the years, Scott had many Labrador dogs. He expressed his loyalty and commitment to his dogs, by spending endless hours every day with them. Scott walked, fed, and cared for his labs each and every day, without fail. Thousands of pictures, keychains, plates, and coasters all expressed the way Scott saw and felt about his dogs. If you were a dog lover, you would automatically be accepted into Scott's life. Scott's dogs (Necco, Emma, Fiona and Daisy) will miss him, as they sit by the window waiting for him to come home. Central to Scott's personality, he was loved by everyone that he came into contact with. Once Scott felt comfortable with his surroundings, he would let his guard down and display his quick wit and amicable personality, all balanced with calmness and trust. Scott worked for the Oneida County Sheriff's Office as a Court Attendant. Scott quickly excelled at his job and was well liked for his work ethics, dependability, and trust. Scott's life was celebrated on Friday, September 29th, 2017 with Father Croghan and the immediate family. Scott is survived by his father, Robert, and his mother, Arlene. He is also survived by his brothers and their families: Robert (Mary Clare), James, Jon (Tracy), and nieces and nephews Daniel, Timothy, Adam, Matt, Kaitlyn, and Kristen. Scott is predeceased by his brother, Danny. The family wishes to acknowledge the tremendous support and comfort that was provided.
